After delivering back-to-back hits like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’, and ‘Jodha Akhbar’, director Ashutosh Gowariker suffered a setback with the failure of ‘What’s your Rashee?’, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and ‘Panipat’ and is now looking at shifting gears to get back into the game.
Gowariker is now planning to make a contemporary action flick and has roped in actor Farhan Akhtar, who’s been enjoying accolades for her performance in the newly released ‘Toofaan’, for the same.
If reports are to be believed, then Farhan will be seen playing a forest ranger in this contemporary action tale that will have the social message of forest preservation at its core. However, the makers are currently looking for another big name to play the antagonist.
What’s also exciting is that the film will see Javed Akhtar return to screenwriting after a gap of 15 years!
