A while ago we reported about how director Rajkumar Hirani is in talks with Kajol to play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the director’s next.
And now we hear that the film, a social-drama, will also be starring Taapsee Pannu and Vidya Balan along with Kajol. A report by a Free Press Journal suggests that the film will see Kajol play SRK’s wife, while Taapsee will be seen playing a journalist covering Khan’s journey; along with Balan playing a guide to King Khan’s character.
And it just doesn’t end here. The ‘3 idiots’ director who’s single-handedly responsible for creating cult bromance movies is in talks with Manoj Bajpayee to play an important role in the film. In the past, Hirani’s films have seen male protagonists create magic together; be it Sanjay Dutt’s Munnabhai and Arshad Warsi’s Circuit from the ‘Munnabhai’ series, Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanjay Dutt and Vicky Kaushal’s Kamli in ‘Sanju’, or Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi’s ultimate bond of friendship in ‘3 idiots’.
While it would be truly interesting to see Khan and Bajpayee, who’ve been friends since their teenage days in Delhi and were previously seen together in ‘Veer Zaara’, share the screen and create their own kind of chemistry; we are also super excited to hear that Hirani has also approached Boman Irani for the movie.
Be it the ‘Munnabhai’ series or ‘3 idiots’, Hirani always manages to bring out the best side of Irani as an antagonist.
The film is said to be an immigrant drama spanning across India and Canada, and is expected to go on-floors soon after Shah Rukh Khan finishes off his remaining portions of his comeback film ‘Pathan’.
