Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one director who never lets his vision slip out of his hands, and keeps searching for the right time and cast to finally bring it to life. Not many are aware that his 2016 magnum-opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’ too was planned a decade ago with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. However, due to differences between the two, the film had to be shelved. However, the director continued pursuing Khan to star in the film before he finally found his Bajirao in his ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela’ actor Ranveer Singh.
And something similar has been happening with his ambitious ‘Baiju Bawra’ as well. A remake of the 1952 film, Bhansali has been in talks with several actors to star in the musical saga. Reports suggest that the ‘Padmaavat’ director was in talks with Ranbir Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan to play the lead.
However, while Kapoor has strictly maintained that he wouldn’t like to work with SLB again ever since their fallout post ‘Saawariya’, talks with Aaryan too failed to materialize. And now, we hear that the man who’s come to Bhansali’s rescue is none other than his blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh.
Buzz in the industry suggests that Bhansali is in the final round of talks to get his favorite boy on=board to play ‘Baiju Bawra’. Well, it would totally be interesting to see a fourth collaboration between the two.
